According to omirante.pt, the PSP detained two men, aged 22 and 33, on drug trafficking charges in the parish of Vila Franca de Xira. One of them had previous convictions for the same crime and was approached by police in possession of a substantial sum of money and narcotic substance, which led authorities to suspect he was continuing the illicit activity for which he was under investigation.
The second suspect was intercepted at a commercial establishment near his residence and subsequently accompanied the house searches, having been detained outside of flagrante delicto.
The searches resulted in the seizure of 12 packets of cocaine equivalent to nine individual doses, 4.06 individual doses of hashish, a serrated knife and two razor blades with traces of hashish, two airtight sachets with traces of hashish, five canisters of nitrous oxide, a precision scale, a grinder, a mobile phone and 1,680 euros in cash.
Brought before the judge for first interrogation, both defendants were subjected to the measure of remand in custody.
