Portuguese police detained a 31-year-old former Serbian football player on the country's motorway during a major operation against a Balkan cartel operating in the Iberian Peninsula. In the suspect's vehicle, authorities found one and a half tonnes of cocaine valued at approximately 70 million euros, along with firearms.
According to Slovenian newspaper Delo, the arrest of Uroš Milošević took place on Wednesday and is part of a broader investigation conducted in coordination with Spanish security forces. Last week, two members of the same criminal organisation had already been arrested in Spain. On that occasion, the police forces of Portugal and Spain seized a total of 3.7 tonnes of various drugs.
During his sporting career, Milošević represented Serbian clubs including Čukarički, Rakovica, Teleoptik and Sinđelić.
