The facts occurred within the family residence, in the municipality of Seixal, over the course of the last two months. The period coincides with the suspect's school holidays, as he attends a vocational school in the interior of the country and had been spending more time at home during that interval.
Taking advantage of moments when he was alone with the minor, the defendant resorted to physical force, threats and violence to subject the child to various sexual practices.
Following the initial judicial interrogation, the suspect was subject to the coercive measure of remand in custody. The proceedings are under the direction of the Public Prosecution Service of Seixal.
