The PSP arrested a 41-year-old man in Oeiras accused of repeatedly assaulting his wife and two older children, including an incident in which he beat his partner while she was holding their baby daughter.

The Public Security Police arrested an individual aged 41 in the Oeiras area, accused of subjecting his wife and three children to a systematic pattern of domestic violence over several years.
The couple have been in a relationship for 14 years and have three children aged 13, 11 and 1 year old. According to information released by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the aggressor adopted a violent attitude towards his partner from the beginning of their marriage, frequently resorting to physical assault with his fists.
In addition to assaults on the woman, the detainee also regularly mistreated his two older children. The abusive behaviour included beatings that were repeated frequently against the children.
In a particularly serious incident that occurred at the end of June, the man physically assaulted his wife while she was holding their one-year-old daughter in her arms. The blows were so violent that both fell to the ground. The aggressor then immobilised the woman with a cloth and continued to assault her head with punches.
The police authorities proceeded with the arrest of the suspect, who was subsequently remanded in custody. The case now proceeds to the relevant judicial authorities.
