A 55-year-old man suspected of domestic violence against his partner has been placed in remand custody in Viseu after breaching a court order imposing restraint measures.

A 55-year-old man accused of committing domestic violence against the woman with whom he was in a relationship was arrested again and placed in remand custody in the city of Viseu. The man had been released pending the advancement of his court proceedings, but was caught breaching the restrictions that had been imposed on him.
The re-arrest occurred following a complaint filed with the GNR indicating that the suspect was not complying with the court's determinations. GNR officers proceeded with the arrest and brought him before the examining magistrate of the Viseu Criminal Court of Instruction.
The magistrate decided to apply the most severe restraint measure, ordering his transfer to the Campo prison establishment in the same city. The news was reported by Correio da Manhã.
