A 29-year-old man was arrested in Carnaxide by PSP investigators after abducting his minor daughter. The suspect was serving a suspended sentence for domestic violence against the child's mother.
Man arrested for abduction of minor daughter in Oeiras
A 29-year-old man was arrested by officers from the Oeiras PSP in Carnaxide after taking away his minor daughter. The incident occurred on the Wednesday of the previous week.
The detainee was serving a suspended criminal penalty that had been imposed for episodes of domestic violence against his partner and the child's mother. After taking his daughter with him, the man refused to return her to the child's mother.
Under threat of a complaint to the PSP and consequent arrest, the individual ultimately surrendered the minor to her mother. Subsequently, police officers effected the arrest.
The Oeiras DIAP had already issued an arrest warrant against the suspect, following denunciations of domestic violence submitted by his ex-partner.
The investigation revealed that the aggressor had exercised physical and psychological violence against his former partner for several years. In light of the evidence collected by officers, the court decided to apply the most severe coercive measure against the defendant.
