A man has been reported to the Judicial Police in Aveiro on suspicion of having captured inappropriate images of young handball players during a sports tournament in Estarreja.

An individual has been reported to the Judicial Police in Aveiro by the National Republican Guard (GNR) in Estarreja on suspicion of having captured photographs of a questionable nature of young athletes during a handball tournament. Source: Correio da Manhã
The GNR patrol was called to the competition venue last Saturday due to confrontations between various people and the presumed perpetrator. The disturbances reportedly arose when a group of young people attempted to prevent the suspect from leaving the premises before the arrival of the authorities.
At the scene, the officers were alerted by the group of minors about the man's behaviour, who had allegedly recorded images of the young female athletes. The young people also handed the suspect's mobile phone to the military officers.
The incident was reported to the competent authorities and the electronic equipment was sent to the Judicial Police, which will now analyse the contents to establish whether any criminal offence has been committed.
