A septuagenarian was attacked with a bladed weapon in the cervical region during Sunday afternoon in Cascais, according to CNN Portugal. The victim, aged 70, was stabbed around 18:00.

Shortly after an alert was given to the emergency number 112, an off-duty PSP officer was involved in a collision with another motorist. The driver of the other vehicle allegedly confessed to the officer that he had just killed someone.

The PSP attended the scene and verified that the road incident and the crime are linked. Security forces remain at the location gathering evidence and conducting an investigation.
