On Friday night in Silves, an individual aged around 60 was captured by the GNR shortly after assaulting and stealing belongings from another man. Officers found him still in possession of the allegedly stolen objects.
The two men had previously been in a restaurant establishment in the locality. Subsequently, near a food retail space, the suspect allegedly physically attacked the other citizen and took a bag containing cash, personal documents, debit and credit cards, and a mobile device.
The injured party approached a security officer at the retail establishment seeking help, who contacted the police. Based on that contact, the GNR launched a search that resulted in the capture of the presumed perpetrator within minutes, recovering the stolen items.
