Tiago Martins, a content creator on the social media platform TikTok who performs under the stage name Tiago Grila, is to be put on trial for a set of criminal offences related to a traffic accident that occurred around two and a half years ago.
The influencer faces charges of serious bodily injury through negligence, failure to provide assistance, and driving without a valid licence. According to the accusation, Tiago Grila struck a woman on the road, got out of the car to observe the victim lying on the ground, but then returned to the vehicle and left the scene without providing any assistance.
During the investigation, the defendant's legal team presented a document intended to demonstrate that the suspect was elsewhere when the events occurred. The investigating judge, however, did not consider this alleged proof of absence from the scene to be valid.
The case now proceeds to the trial phase in the Lisbon district court, where the evidence collected will be assessed and the parties involved in the proceedings will be heard.
