Police authorities in Coimbra apprehended a 25-year-old individual yesterday morning, accused of committing numerous robberies in the city during the previous week. The arrest took place at Alto de São João, near Dona Elvira restaurant.
According to information released by police to Diário As Beiras, the detainee had previously managed to evade officers on three separate occasions. On some of those occasions, he drove stolen vehicles to escape, exposing police officers to situations of risk to their physical safety.
The suspect was wanted for repeatedly committing theft crimes in the area over the past seven days. The operation that led to his capture took place during yesterday morning, putting an end to his criminal activity in the region.
