A 24-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police, accused of attempting to kill two men during a brawl in the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros, in Bragança district.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 5 July, when two groups began to argue — one group was from the locality where the incident took place, the other from Mirandela. The exchange of words degenerated into insults and threats, culminating in an attack with a bladed weapon.
The detainee allegedly drew a razor blade and struck two youths, aged 21 and 22, on the back in the waist area. The injuries caused were serious enough to endanger the survival of both, who escaped thanks to the rapid intervention of health services.
The criminal investigation unit of the PJ in Vila Real was responsible for the identification and capture of the suspect, as reported by Central Press.
The accused will be brought before a judge for the first interrogation, where the coercive measures to be applied will be decided. The investigation remains under the charge of the local Public Prosecutor's Office.
