Authorities in Beja detained a 22-year-old individual over the weekend, discovering thousands of doses of narcotics, a pistol and approximately nine hundred euros on him.

Police authorities in Beja proceeded to detain a 22-year-old individual during the weekend, following an operation against the illicit substances trade. In the possession of the detainee, inspectors discovered several thousand small quantities of narcotics — namely cocaine, hashish, ecstasy and cannabis — which amounted to 3,115 units.
In addition to the narcotic substances, the young man was carrying a small-calibre pistol, a military round, a computer, various blades and a pair of scissors. The money seized amounted to approximately nine hundred and twelve euros. After being heard in court, the defendant was required to appear before the competent authorities every day, according to Correio da Manhã.
