A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police in Lisbon after sexually abusing a 23-year-old woman who was asleep on a sofa following a night out with friends.

A 25-year-old man was arrested by investigators from the Judicial Police in Portugal's capital, accused of committing sexual abuse against a 23-year-old young woman, an acquaintance of his, in the early morning of 25 May.
According to the Judicial Police account, after spending an evening with friends, the group went to the home of one of the individuals. The woman, exhausted, fell asleep on the living room sofa. She woke up while being abused by one of those present.
The case came to light when the victim went to the PSP to lodge a complaint, with the matter subsequently being transferred to the jurisdiction of the Judicial Police. Officers conducted investigations that resulted in the gathering of sufficient evidence to arrest the alleged perpetrator.
The individual was brought before a court, where the judge decided to release him on bail, imposing an obligation to report regularly to the authorities and prohibiting him from any contact with the victim or with potential witnesses.
