Public Prosecutor investigates works on minister Luís Neves's Alentejo estate
The Public Prosecutor requested information from Odemira Municipal Council on works carried out on the estate of Luís Neves's family in São Teotónio without any licensing application having been submitted. The investigation, according to Correio da Manhã, aims to establish whether the current minister for Internal Administration committed irregularities in the interventions carried out on the Alentejo property.
The works in question were initiated when Luís Neves was still serving as national director of the Judicial Police. At that time, no licensing request was submitted to the municipal authority, which prompted the judicial authorities to open an investigation.
At the end of July, the official publicly admitted he did not request a licence for the works, justifying it as "interventions of minor impact on the existing structure". Neves also guaranteed that "if anything needs to be regularised, it will be".
