Operation Influencer gathers evidence from Marquês case linked to Vítor Escária

Investigation crosses Operation Influencer with Marquês case
According to jornaldenegocios.pt, prosecutors from Operation Influencer requested access to elements from Operation Marquês, namely the search warrants executed at the residence and office of Vítor Escária. The former chief of staff to António Costa in São Bento is suspected of trafficking in influence.
The investigation focuses, among other crimes, on suspicions of trafficking in influence related to the approval of a data centre in Sines. To strengthen the gathering of evidence, prosecutors requested documents from the case that currently has José Sócrates on trial for suspicions of corruption, according to information from Correio da Manhã.
Operation Marquês is in trial phase, and the steps requested by investigators from Operation Influencer aim to establish possible links between the two cases.
