A 26-year-old man from Ireland has been placed in preventive custody on Wednesday, following a violent incident that occurred on Monday at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon.
The violence took place in the baggage collection area, where the suspect attacked a PSP officer and an employee of the MENZIES company. The police officer suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to a hospital unit for treatment.
After his detention, the Irishman was taken to the temporary holding facilities of the PSP in the capital. The court subsequently decided to apply the coercive measure of preventive imprisonment.
