The Judicial Police arrested a man in the city of Viseu, suspected of crimes of sexual abuse of minors. A child under 12 years old disclosed the abuse to a friend.
PJ arrests suspect of child sexual abuse in Viseu
The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested an individual in the city of Viseu, accused of committing crimes of sexual abuse of children. The investigation was launched after a minor, under 12 years of age, confided to a friend about the assaults of which she would have been a victim.
Sexual crimes against minors are investigated with special priority by Portuguese police and judicial authorities, given the vulnerability of victims and the intrinsic gravity of this type of offence.
The detainee was brought before the competent court for the application of appropriate procedural coercive measures.
