The Judicial Police arrested a 62-year-old radio presenter on Thursday in the Amarante area, accused of digital crimes involving child sexual abuse material.
The operation was carried out as part of an initiative to prevent the circulation of illegal content on the web. Inspectors detected access to paedophilic material, which was subsequently linked to the individual now apprehended.
Officers found in his possession several photographs and videos of minors in sexual situations. Some of these files date back to approximately twenty years ago, suggesting a lengthy period of activity.
In addition to storing the material, the suspect used peer-to-peer distribution applications to access and spread images of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
He was brought before a court on Friday, where he was subjected to coercive measures: fortnightly reporting to law enforcement, prohibition of contact with minors under 14 years of age, and a ban on using the internet.
