The Court of Appeal of Lisbon confirmed the 25-year prison sentence for the man who, in 2019, killed three people in a barbershop in Corroios, in the municipality of Seixal.
The crime occurred on 30 October 2019, when the defendant, then aged 26, entered the commercial establishment and fired at the three victims, two of whom were twin brothers. The attacker used a firearm that had been stolen from a GNR military officer.
At first instance, the District Court of Almada had imposed the maximum sentence provided for in the Portuguese Penal Code for the crime of aggravated homicide: 25 years' imprisonment. The defence appealed the decision, but the Court of Appeal of Lisbon upheld the sentence.
