The Public Security Police arrested three suspects in the city of Setúbal late last week on suspicion of involvement in the illegal trade of psychotropic substances. The defendants were subjected to the most serious coercive measure.
The authorities' action was part of an ongoing investigation process. During a house search, officers discovered and collected various items linked to the drug business.
The seized material included 2,316 portions of cocaine in crack form, 59 portions of hashish, four containers of ammonia and an electronic scales. Police also seized a carbine, seven cartridges and €1,680 in cash.
The arrests took place between Thursday and Saturday, in the context of a repressive initiative against the drug market in the region.
