The police operation, named 'Toque de entrada', was coordinated by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the force in that locality in the Aveiro district. The investigative work that preceded it lasted approximately one year.
According to the authorities, the main objective was to dismantle drug supply networks operating in the vicinity of educational institutions in the area. The sale of drugs near schools was thus the central focus of the operation.
