Police from the Arad Organised Crime Combat Service and DIICOT prosecutors have executed 16 search warrants and 33 summonses in a case involving drug trafficking and human trafficking.

According to banatulmeu.ro, on Tuesday, 3 June, police officers from the Arad Organised Crime Combat Service and DIICOT prosecutors – Arad Territorial Bureau conducted a large-scale operation in Arad County. The case concerns the establishment of an organised criminal group, trafficking in high-risk drugs, illegal operations with psychoactive substances and human trafficking.

Law enforcement executed 16 home search warrants and 33 summonses. The individuals targeted were taken to DIICOT Arad headquarters for questioning.

According to investigators, during the period November 2025 – May 2026, several individuals allegedly procured, possessed, brokered and sold high-risk drugs and psychoactive products in crystalline form in Arad municipality.

The investigation also revealed suspicions regarding human trafficking. One person is accused of exploiting the vulnerability of a minor victim, whom he allegedly recruited and housed in various locations, forcing her to engage in prostitution in exchange for sums of money.

The operation involved police officers from organised crime combat brigades in Timișoara and Oradea, personnel from Arad County Police Inspectorate, gendarmes from Arad County Gendarmerie Inspectorate and Timișoara Mobile Gendarmerie Unit, as well as specialists from the Regional Customs Directorate Timiș.
