A woman was found severely injured in a flat in Nyköping municipality on Tuesday evening. Aftonbladet.se reports that a man was arrested in southern Stockholm on Thursday, suspected of aggravated assault.
– She is very seriously injured, prosecutor Martina Valentin told TV4 Nyheterna.
The time of the crime has not been established to a single date. According to Valentin, the matter concerns a time interval from Saturday to Tuesday.
– We have a time of crime that is not a date but a time interval from Saturday to Tuesday, at some point during that period it occurred, she said.
The injuries are described as life-threatening and the woman has not been able to be interviewed by police. The man has previously been convicted of violence against her, something that Valentin confirms.
Caroline Axling, press officer for the East police region, states that the incident is classified as aggravated assault. Technical evidence has been secured and is to be sent for analysis, witnesses are to be interviewed and technical seizures are to be reviewed.
An interview with the arrested man was planned to be held on Friday.
