A 25-year-old man was taken by ambulance to hospital after being assaulted in Skellefteå late on Friday evening, reports norran.se. During the night leading into Saturday, police opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.
The alarm came in around 11 pm. The victim's condition is described as stable. The incident is said to have taken place indoors in one of the city's districts, but police have not disclosed which one.
"It is unclear regarding the witness situation and I do not wish to go into details. This is a matter in a sensitive and initial phase," says Elis Brännström, the police RLC officer on duty.
No persons have been arrested and any potential perpetrators remain at large. Over the weekend, police have worked on investigative measures: interviews have been conducted, technicians have carried out a crime scene examination and the suspected crime scene has been cordoned off.
