A police patrol from Pezinok recently encountered a case in which a driver refused to stop and instead attempted to flee. Officers stopped the nineteen-year-old man on suspicion of speeding and driving in the wrong direction. When ordered to stop, he did not respond and continued his escape, according to the Pluska portal.
During his flight, the young man drove in the opposite direction, ran a red light at the intersection of Pezinská and Vajnorská streets, and by his actions endangered both himself and other road users. The patrol pursuing the vehicle, which was moving at high speed, eventually lost sight of the car.
However, police determined through registration records who owned the vehicle. The Mercedes was discovered parked in front of a family home in Pezinok district. When contacted, the owner revealed that he had loaned the car to his son. The young man subsequently arrived at the scene and confessed to both the driving and the flight from police.
Officers subjected the nineteen-year-old to a breathalyser test. It came back negative, so no alcohol was detected in his blood. No one was injured during the incident. Further circumstances of the case remain under investigation.
