Arrest in Malvín Norte: teenager escaped from Inisa and adult arrested with weapons
An adolescent fugitive from a centre of the National Institute for Adolescent Social Inclusion (Inisa) was detained on Friday in the Malvín Norte neighbourhood along with a man, according to montevideo.com.uy.
Officers from the Special Tactical Support Unit of the Montevideo Police headquarters were patrolling the area of Santander and Rambla Euskalerría when a vehicle attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence.
The agents managed to intercept it and, during the procedure, seized two weapons—one of them with a filed-off serial number—ammunition and two mobile telephones that were inside the vehicle.
One of those detained turned out to be the minor who had escaped from Inisa and was wanted by the authorities. By order of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the adolescent was returned to the institute's centre.
