Dundalk woman in court after Garda weapons seizure linked to organised crime

Google News IE — Crime (en) reports that a Dundalk woman has appeared before court in connection with a Garda investigation into an organised crime group operating in Co. Louth.

Ciara Brady, 34, of Cedarwood Park, Dundalk, appeared before Dundalk District Court on Monday afternoon. She faces six charges in total — four counts of possession of firearms and two counts of possession of ammunition.

The charges follow the search of several homes in Dundalk and the seizure of weapons by Gardaí on Friday. Brady made no reply when the charges were put to her.

With no solicitor present due to the ongoing legal aid strike, Brady was granted bail subject to conditions, including the surrender of her passport and signing on twice weekly at Dundalk Garda station.

She is due to appear before Dundalk District Court again on 25 November for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
