Google News IE — Crime (en) reports that gardaí seized approximately €2.3 million worth of suspected cocaine, cannabis and MDMA in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, on Friday 28 August 2026, as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs.

The Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) observed and intercepted the handover of suspected drugs at a public location in the area. Officers seized approximately 18 kilograms of suspected cocaine, estimated at €1.8 million, along with a further 4 kilograms of suspected cocaine — valued at €400,000 — from a vehicle at the scene.

Two men, aged in their 50s and 60s, were arrested and are being detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under the Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

Follow-up searches carried out by investigating gardaí yielded an additional 5,000 MDMA tablets, with an estimated street value of €50,000, and 4 kilograms of cannabis herb valued at €56,000.

The total estimated value of all seized drugs amounts to €2.306 million. The material has been forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
