Fundraiser seeks funds to bring Limerick murder victim Jady Rosa home to Brazil

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to cover the repatriation and burial costs of Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, a Brazilian national found dead at an apartment on Cecil Street in Limerick City at around 7.30am on 21 August, Dublin Live reports.

Gardaí launched a murder investigation following the discovery of her body. A spokesperson confirmed on Saturday afternoon that a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an incident room established at Henry Street Garda Station. Investigators have not released the results of the post-mortem, citing "operational reasons."

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support Rosa's relatives. The scene remains preserved, and the Garda Technical Bureau is continuing its technical examination. Anyone with information is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on (061) 212400.

The fundraiser was set up by people close to Rosa, who had been living and working in Limerick for a number of years. "Today we come together for a reason no one should ever have to face," the campaign page states. "Our dear Jady, a Brazilian who was living in Limerick, Ireland, had her life tragically taken."

Rosa's employer has agreed to cover the cost of transporting her body from Ireland to Brazil. However, organisers say additional expenses remain outstanding, including the transfer of her remains from São Paulo airport to her hometown, as well as the costs of her wake and burial.

"This fundraiser was created exclusively to help cover the transportation of Jady's body from São Paulo airport to the place where she will be laid to rest, funeral service and burial expenses and other costs directly related to Jady's final farewell," the campaign explains.

Donors are encouraged to contribute any amount. "Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference and will be a meaningful gesture of kindness and solidarity with her family during this incredibly difficult time," the page reads.
