Man, 33, charged with mother's murder following Ballybrit death in April

Dubravko Ostojic, of Claí Mór, Ballybrit, appeared before Galway District Court on the charge. His mother, 65-year-old Milena Ostojic, died after sustaining serious injuries at her home on Claí Mór, Ballybrit, in April.

Detective Garda Gerry Carroll gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution during the brief hearing, according to RTÉ. Ostojic made no reply when the charges were put to him.

Judge Fiona Lydon ruled that bail was a matter for the High Court, citing the seriousness of the charges. She remanded Ostojic in custody to appear via videolink at next Monday's sitting of the District Court.
