Gardaí have identified a male suspect in the murder of Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, found dead in a Limerick apartment on 21 August. Over €18,000 has been raised to repatriate her to Brazil.

Gardaí in Limerick have identified a male suspect in connection with the death of Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, a Brazilian woman found unresponsive in an apartment on Lower Cecil Street in the early hours of Friday, 21 August, Google News IE — Crime (en) reports.
The suspect is believed to have been well known to the victim. Gardaí are following a definite line of enquiry, according to Limerick Live.
"An Garda Síochána is now carrying out a murder investigation," a garda spokesperson confirmed on Saturday.
Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa was in her 30s and originally from Sorocaba, a city in the state of São Paulo. She had been residing in Limerick for a number of years, working for a cleaning company. It is understood she was married.
Her body was removed from the scene on Friday and brought to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where the State Pathologist carried out a post-mortem examination. The results are not being released for operational reasons. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support her family.
Over €18,000 raised within hours
A GoFundMe campaign, titled Help give Jady a dignified send-off in Brazil, raised more than €18,000 in a matter of hours to cover the costs of repatriating her remains and paying for her funeral.
"Today we come together for a reason no one should ever have to face," the appeal states. "Our dear Jady, a Brazilian woman who was living in Limerick, Ireland, had her life tragically taken. In this moment of immense grief, we want to help her family give her the dignified farewell she deserves in her home country, surrounded by the people who love her."
The page notes that Jady's employer will cover the cost of transporting her body from Ireland to Brazil. The fundraiser is intended to meet remaining expenses, including transportation from São Paulo airport to her hometown, as well as the costs of her wake and burial.
"Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference and will be a meaningful gesture of kindness and solidarity with her family during this incredibly difficult time," the campaign states.
Tributes from friends and family
Many of Jady's friends and family members paid tribute to her on social media, describing her as happy, bubbly, and well-liked throughout Limerick city. A family member said she is in "endless sadness" and "total mourning" following news of her death.
A close friend posted a photograph of the two together, writing: "Eternal memories of you, my dear. Only God knows how much you helped me and how contagious your joy was. May the Lord Jesus receive you in His arms eternally. We had many happy moments but today, you went to live with Jesus. I will never forget your kindness."
Councillor Elisa O'Donovan placed a bouquet of flowers and a card outside the apartment block on Cecil Street where Jady died. The inscription read: "Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, to all who knew and loved you, we are so sad for their loss. You will be so sorely missed in Limerick." It was signed by Cllr O'Donovan on behalf of the people of Limerick.
