Arrests at Doonbeg golf links as Trump visits Co Clare

Three women have been arrested for offences committed at US President Donald Trump's golf links in Doonbeg, Co Clare, TheJournal.ie reports.

On Friday evening, a woman in her 20s was detained on suspicion of trespassing on the Doonbeg golf links. Two further arrests followed on Saturday, when women aged in their 30s and 40s were taken into custody for public order offences at the same location.

All three appeared before a special sitting of Ennis District Court on Saturday evening.

The arrests coincided with Trump's arrival in Ireland. The president made a brief stop in Dublin before travelling to Co Clare, where the Irish Open is being held at his Doonbeg course. He is expected to depart Ireland on Sunday evening.

Gardaí confirmed that a significant policing operation remains in place across Co Clare. Members of the public have been advised to expect ongoing restrictions on traffic and movement in the vicinity of the golf course.
