Two members of staff were assaulted during a robbery at a petrol station in Bridgend, on the Donegal/Derry border, shortly after 9pm on Monday night, BreakingNews.ie reports.

Two men entered the service station, took a number of items, and then attacked the two employees on the premises.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that officers are investigating the assault incident, which occurred at approximately 9.10pm on 31 August. "Gardaí are seeking witnesses in connection with an assault incident that occurred at a filling station in Bridgend on the night of Monday the 31st of August at approx. 9.10pm," the spokesperson said.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who travelled in the Bridgend area or along the Derry/Bridgend road between 8.45pm and 9.30pm that night and who may have dash-cam footage to make it available to investigators.
