Sexual assault on teenage girl in Nottingham's New Basford prompts CCTV appeal

A teenage girl was sexually assaulted in a New Basford alleyway on 12 September. Nottinghamshire Police have released CCTV images of two people they wish to speak to.

Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for information following a serious sexual assault in New Basford, bbc.com reports.

A teenage girl told officers she was assaulted in Goodcliffe Street at around 20:00 BST on 12 September. According to the force, the girl had approached a group of people at a tram stop on Shipstone Street before an unknown male took her to a nearby alleyway, where the assault took place.

Police have released CCTV images of two individuals they want to speak to in connection with the investigation. Detective Inspector Hannah Frame said: "We'd strongly advise them to make themselves known to us, so that we can ask them a few questions."

Frame confirmed that specially trained officers are continuing to provide support to the victim. The force has also been conducting daily patrols in the area while enquiries continue.

Anyone who recognises the individuals shown in the CCTV images is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police.
