Man arrested over sexual assault on woman in Aldershot, Hampshire

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after a woman was allegedly kissed, punched and had her hair pulled in Aldershot.

A 29-year-old man from Aldershot has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a woman in Hampshire, Daily Express reports.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was approached by an unknown man on Alison's Road, Aldershot, at around 11.30pm on Saturday 11 July. According to police, the man kissed her, pulled her hair and punched her in the chest. She managed to flee the scene and was subsequently taken to hospital, where she received treatment for a broken finger, concussion, bruising and scratches.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary carried out enquiries in the weeks following the incident and arrested the man on 24 September. He was held on suspicion of sexual assault on a female and wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. He has since been released on conditional bail while further enquiries continue.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant footage from the area. A police spokesperson said: "Did you witness the incident? Do you have any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage that could help our enquiries?"
