Kingston Man, 81, Held After Years of Alleged Child Abuse at Four Seasons Campground
The Kingston, New Hampshire Police Department arrested an 81-year-old man on sexual assault charges this week, themainewire.com reports, following an investigation into years of alleged abuse at a campground in Naples, Maine.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department opened the investigation on February 27, after receiving a report of sexual assault committed against a child under the age of 13. According to the report, the alleged abuse occurred over a period of years at the Four Seasons Campground in Naples.
Investigators identified John Defina, of Kingston, NH, as the suspect. Defina had been living at the campground as a seasonal resident during the period in which the alleged assaults took place. Deputies obtained a warrant for his arrest, and Kingston Police took him into custody in New Hampshire.
Defina faces two counts of unlawful sexual contact, Class B, one count of unlawful sexual contact, Class C, and two counts of unlawful sexual contact, Class D.
He is currently being held at the Rockingham County Jail in New Hampshire, pending an extradition hearing.
