According to wwmt.com, prosecutors formally charged Jacarr Cox, 32, of Grand Rapids on Monday following an armed home invasion at an apartment on Baldwin Street near Main Street in Georgetown Township, Michigan.
Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) deputies were called to the scene before 5:30 a.m. on Thursday after a child dialled 9-1-1. Cox, a former partner of the 32-year-old female resident, had broken in while carrying a handgun. Also inside the apartment at the time were a 7-month-old, a 9-year-old, and a 14-year-old. The three children were unharmed; the woman sustained minor injuries.
Cox fled on foot when deputies arrived and evaded them after a pursuit through a nearby wooded area. OCSO deputies located and arrested him in Grand Rapids the following day.
As of Monday, Cox remains held at Ottawa County Jail. He faces several felony charges, including home invasion and multiple assault-related counts, according to OCSO.
