A warrant was issued on 25 August for Elizabeth Rozo in connection with an Austin Police Department (APD) investigation into credit card and bank card abuse. Officers located Rozo's vehicle at an apartment complex near Tech Ridge Blvd before conducting a traffic stop.

A search of her car uncovered approximately 400 suspected stolen bank cards, nearly 300 gift cards, two counterfeit "arrow keys" — tools commonly used to access cluster-style mailboxes — and additional evidence.

A subsequent search of Rozo's apartment yielded further material linked to mail theft, identity theft, and fraud. In total, the investigation resulted in the seizure of thousands of pieces of stolen mail, hundreds of suspected stolen bank cards, and stolen postal keys.

Rozo was arrested and booked on the outstanding warrant for credit card or bank card abuse, unlawful conduct involving a mail receptacle or lock, and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance — methamphetamine. APD said further charges are anticipated.

The Austin Police Department is urging residents to take precautions against mail theft and to protect their personal information. Police advise the public to remain alert to signs that mail theft may have occurred and to report any suspicious behaviour around mailboxes or mailrooms immediately.
