Sergeant Kristiyan Ivanov of the Atlantic City Police Department, New Jersey, has been discharged from hospital following a shooting incident. The Bulgarian-American Police Association announced the news, as reported by 24 chasa.

The association stated that Ivanov will now begin an extended rehabilitation period with a team of doctors at a specialized center.

The Atlantic City Police Department covered the medical expenses during his hospital stay. However, his family will face additional financial burdens related to ongoing treatment and the lengthy recovery process.

Among the anticipated costs are the temporary inability of his wife to work, the need for childcare for their children, and other unforeseen expenses. In support of the family, Ivanov's colleagues at the Atlantic City Police Department organized a fundraising campaign on the GoFundMe platform, which quickly raised the necessary amount.
