Zachariah Jerry Trujillo, 25, of Houma, Louisiana, was booked on five counts of second-degree rape. He is currently held in Terrebonne Parish jail on a bond of $1,000,000.

Deputies were initially called to a Houma residence on 27 August following a report of alleged inappropriate sexual contact between a juvenile and an adult male. Investigators established that the man had previously served as a coach to the juvenile.

Detectives from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit assumed responsibility for the case and questioned Trujillo. During that interview, Trujillo acknowledged having a sexual relationship with the juvenile, who was identified as a former student, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office stated the investigation remains active and is in its early stages, adding that further details will be released as they become available.
