A woman was killed and two others were injured in a shooting on Revere Road in Durham, North Carolina, on Saturday afternoon, abc11.com reports.

Officers from the Durham Police Department responded at approximately 1:30 p.m. to the scene near Sedwick Road. Investigators said Victoria James, 43, of Durham, was driving a Mitsubishi Outlander southbound on Revere Road when shots were fired into her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, Dasia James, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Court records identify a third occupant, Jeffery James, 16, who was not physically harmed.

Police arrested Lontrel Diray Alston, 38, and charged him with multiple felonies. According to an arrest warrant, Alston allegedly fired a handgun into the vehicle, fatally shooting Victoria James, wounding Dasia James, and assaulting Jeffery James.

The investigation remains ongoing.
