At least eight individuals were injured in a shooting that took place late Saturday evening in Coney Island, Brooklyn, according to a statement from New York City police.

Officers were notified about gunfire at approximately 22:37 local time, as reported by ERT News.

Those wounded include two young women, two adult men, and four boys aged 14, 12, 7, and 6. All victims were taken to hospitals in the area for medical attention.

Seven of the injured are listed in stable condition. One 21-year-old woman, however, remains in critical condition.

Law enforcement officials discovered a firearm at the location of the incident. No suspects have been apprehended at this time.
