Google News MT — Crime (en) reports that Eugene police arrested a 31-year-old man in the early hours of Friday, 28 August, following a SWAT response at a home in the 300 block of Archie Street that woke some residents with an emergency alert.

Officers from the Eugene Police Department arrived just after 1 a.m. to execute a search warrant connected to a report received around 11:30 a.m. the previous day. The department's Violent Crimes Unit had been investigating Scout Monroe Stripedwolf on suspicion of coercion, menacing, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of body armour.

Stripedwolf refused to comply with commands from the SWAT team to exit the property. Police evacuated nearby residents and issued an emergency alert asking people in the surrounding area to leave or shelter in place, citing concerns that he could be armed with high-powered rifles and wearing body armour.

Several specialised units responded to the scene, including the Crisis Negotiation Team, Drone Team, Street Crimes Unit, Explosive Disposal Unit, Special Investigations Unit, and Violent Crimes Unit alongside the SWAT team.

Stripedwolf was taken into custody at approximately 1:44 a.m. The shelter-in-place alert was lifted shortly afterwards. The investigation remains ongoing.
