Fatal shooting at Sacramento trampoline park: Fresno man charged with homicide

Samantha Sue Cromwell, 29, was fatally shot on Saturday afternoon at the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park on the 1700 block of Arden Way in Sacramento, fresnobee.com reports. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office officially released her name on Monday.

Edward Lee Daniel Tucker Jr., 36, of Fresno was arrested on suspicion of homicide in connection with the shooting, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Tucker remained in custody Monday at the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he has been deemed ineligible for bail. His arraignment hearing was expected to take place Tuesday or Wednesday in Sacramento Superior Court.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday and found Cromwell and a second woman, both suffering at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical aid was rendered to Cromwell until medics arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition as of Sunday.

Cromwell's family told ABC10 that she had been at the trampoline park celebrating her son's eighth birthday when the shooting occurred, and that Tucker was her former husband. Her sister, Alyvia Cromwell, described the incident as a domestic violence situation in a GoFundMe fundraiser she launched to cover funeral costs and support the victim's young son.

Dispatch audio reviewed by The Sacramento Bee indicated that no one inside the park had been struck by gunfire when first responders arrived. Police called for additional officers in part to manage a crowd of more than 100 people, including children, who were present in the area at the time.

Public records indicate Cromwell had most recently lived in Fresno, though she had spent much of her life in Sacramento County before 2024. Tucker was listed in public records as possibly her husband.
