Georgetown Man Convicted on Drug Trafficking Charges After 2023 Bust

A Georgetown man has been sentenced to 33 years in prison following a drug trafficking conviction linked to a December 2023 search warrant, live5news.com reports.

Malcolm Archie, 35, was found guilty on Thursday after a four-day trial on charges of trafficking fentanyl in quantities of 28 grams or more and trafficking cocaine between 200 and 400 grams, according to the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

The sentence — 33 years for the fentanyl charge and 25 years for the cocaine charge — runs concurrently.

The case originated from a search warrant executed at a residence on Mercer Avenue in December 2023. Investigators recovered more than 800 grams of fentanyl and more than 200 grams of cocaine during that search.

Officials confirmed Archie must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for supervised release.
