Duane "Keffe D" Davis has been found guilty of the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur, Google News MT — Crime (en) reports, citing NBC News.
Davis, long considered a prime suspect in one of hip-hop's most high-profile unsolved killings, was convicted following a trial in Las Vegas — the city where Shakur was shot during a drive-by attack nearly three decades ago.
Shakur, 25 at the time, was struck by gunfire on 7 September 1996 while travelling in a vehicle after a boxing match. He died six days later in hospital.
Davis had publicly discussed his alleged involvement in the shooting in a memoir and television interviews years before his 2023 arrest. Prosecutors argued he orchestrated the attack from inside a white Cadillac. He had pleaded not guilty.
The conviction marks the first time anyone has been held criminally responsible for the death of one of the most influential figures in rap history.
