Man exposes himself to toddler outside Nashville school, claims to be paedophile

A man was arrested Saturday outside Hume-Fogg Academic High School in downtown Nashville after exposing himself to a family including a toddler. He repeatedly identified himself as a paedophile during arrest.

A man was taken into custody on Saturday outside Hume-Fogg Academic High School in downtown Nashville after he allegedly exposed himself to multiple people, including a toddler, wsmv.com reports.

According to arrest papers, the incident took place on the steps of the magnet high school on Broadway. The campus was closed at the time.

A woman contacted police after the man allegedly exposed himself to her family. When officers arrived, they located the woman nearby and found the defendant seated on the hand railing of the steps. The woman stated she did not wish to press charges.

As a second officer attempted to question him, the man exposed himself again — this time directly to that officer, according to an affidavit filed by police.

Officers then took the man into custody. During transport to jail, he "rambled incoherently, stating many times that he is a pedophile," the affidavit states.

At the jail, the man refused to provide his identity and was booked as a John Doe. When Davidson County Sheriff's Office staff attempted to identify him, "he became combative and was placed in a separate room," the affidavit notes.

As of Monday afternoon, the man remains in the custody of the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, still unidentified.
