Man killed in Gaston County shooting, 25-year-old arrested for murder

A man was shot dead on Grandhaven Drive in Mount Holly on Monday night. Suspect Jaelen Drum, 25, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Fatal shooting on Grandhaven Drive, Mount Holly

A person was shot and killed in a Gaston County neighbourhood just before 8:45 p.m. on 7 September, wbtv.com reports. Officers responding to Grandhaven Drive in Mount Holly found the victim dead from a gunshot wound. The victim's name and age were not immediately released.

The alleged shooter, 25-year-old Jaelen Michael Lee Drum, was still at the scene when police arrived. Drum was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Gaston County police did not disclose in their initial release what led up to the fatal incident.

Approximately 15 minutes later, a second shooting occurred at an apartment complex on nearby Noles Drive, also in Mount Holly. Mount Holly police said that shooting left a "young male" dead, and a female was arrested in connection with that incident.
