A man was shot in the stomach Friday afternoon in the 2600 block of Short Vine Street in Corryville, near the University of Cincinnati campus, according to the Cincinnati Police Department. Officers were called to the scene at approximately 12:38 p.m.

According to wcpo.com, police confirmed that a single shot was fired. The victim was transported to UC Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after officers arrived, UC Public Safety issued an emergency alert urging students in the area to remain at their current location if it was safe to do so. A second alert was posted around 1:10 p.m. issuing an "ALL CLEAR," confirming that the suspect or suspects had fled the scene.

Police told WCPO that the suspect remains at large but that surveillance footage from nearby cameras has provided a visual identification. The stretch of Short Vine Street between Corry Street and W. Carlton Street was cordoned off during the investigation.

Authorities said they believe the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the general public.

Friday's shooting is the latest in a series of shootings and shots-fired incidents in the vicinity of the UC campus since the start of the fall semester. The pattern prompted university officials to send a letter to the community, and Cincinnati police responded by implementing road closures on nearby streets during certain hours. On Thursday, police adjusted those closures for the current weekend following objections from local business owners.
